COVID 19 – Current Situation (as it relates to OMYSA) REVISED April 9th, 2020
We would reaffirm that currently all sanctioned soccer activity has been suspended by Canada Soccer. This includes referee and coach clinics, team practices, training and ANY event gathering that is soccer related. We do not know the length of the suspension, however, BC Soccer & Canada Soccer will be keeping the membership updated and informed on an ongoing basis and we will continue to share those updates with our OMYSA members. At this time all COYSA league scheduled games for April 2020 have been canceled/postponed. We will provide an update on or before May 1, 2020.
We all understand that the longer the suspension is in place more questions of concern will arise regarding our season. COYSA are working under a review and decision-making process to cancel and/or postpone programs and activity as more information becomes known about the Covid-19 situation in our Province.
The Board of the Central Okanagan Youth Soccer Association have scheduled to meet / video conference on April 23rd, 2020 to discuss the latest and up-to date information provided from Canada Soccer, BC Soccer and Local & Provincial Government Authorities in order to react accordingly. After this meeting we shall be able to provide further information.
