Coaching Information
Dear Coaches,
Once again, we would like to thank all of you for volunteering to Coach Your Childs Grass Roots Soccer Program. BC Soccer require that Grass Roots Soccer Coaches be certified for the Age Group that they are intending coaching.
The necessary coach education has been made much more accessible by moving to a blended learning format allowing coaches to complete the –
(PART 1) theoretical part of the course online and the
(PART 2) on-field practical component by attending an in-person workshop.
Step 1. Set up a BC Soccer coach Centre Account here (Many of you already have an account used previously) nothing else required here until online component complete. This is also where you register for your on-filed workshop.
Step 2. Register for the age appropriate online component on Canada Soccer Website here making sure you use same email address as for your BC Soccer Coach Centre Account
Step 3. Wait for next instructions in terms of which on field workshop to sign up for. We will provide that info shortly. Once we advise of workshops you can the register for the workshops using your BC Soccer Coach Centre Account here
Once you have completed the the required online and on-field workshops complete our Out of Pocket Expense Form and we will reimburse you the cost of course.
The Grass Root workshops are as follows –
Designed for coaches of U4 to U6 players and consists of completing 1.5 hours of online training followed by a 2-hour Practical On-Field Workshop.
Designed for coaches of U7 / U9 Teams. It consists of completing 1.5 hours of online training followed by a 3-hour Practical On-Field Workshop.
Designed for coaches of U10 / U13 Teams. It consists of completing 2 hours of online training followed by a 4-hour Practical On-Field Workshop.
Designed for coaches of U14 / U18 Teams. It consists of completing 2 hours of online training followed by a 4-hour Practical On-Field Workshop.
